The Tigers earned a 92-72 victory over Bethel last Thursday as they were carried by a hot shooting second half as a team and from senior forward Alston Davis, who scored 22 of his career-high 25 points with in the second half.

CU shot 75 percent from the field in the second half as Davis was a perfect 7-for-7 from the field and 6-for-6 from three-point range to outscore the Wildcats 55-43 in the half.

OFFENSIVE DEPTH
  • Through the first four games of the season, many different Tigers have proven to be offensive threats as six different players currently averaging double figures for CU.
  • After the 25 points from Davis (25.0), Taiveyhon Mason (18.5), Max Reyes (13.0), Sam Weining (11.0), Jacob King (10.7), and Lenorris Mincey (10.0) are all in double figures for their scoring average, though Davis, Reyes, and Mincey have only played on game so far this season.
  • King is currently out of action due to injury as Weining and Devaunte Robinson's COVID-19 return to play status finally completed after the pair missed the Bethel game to help add a pair of bodies to the Campbellsville rotation.
  • Mason has been the only player for the Tigers to score in double figures in every game this season as he hasn't scored fewer than 15 points in any of the four games this season with his most recent performance coming as an 18-point, 8-assist effort against Bethel.
  • Forwards Ross Ryan and Taj Price are just outside of the double figures scoring averages with Price at 9.8 and Ryan at 8.8 with both big men averaging right around five rebounds per game.

SCOUTING PIKEVILLE
  • The Bears are 1-2 on the season with their lone win coming in non-conference play against University of Rio Grande on Nov. 6 when they earned a 97-75 victory.
  • Both of their losses have each come by single-digit margins as they fell to Martin Methodist last Thursday by three points at a 79-76 final with Cumberland University edging out a 90-86 victory in double overtime last Saturday.

LOOKING AHEAD
  • CU's next game was going to be its other rescheduled MSC game from November when they travel to University of the Cumberlands on Dec. 15 but now conference officials have moved the game between Martin Methodist and Campbellville to this Saturday from Jan. 16 to take advantage of both teams' availability this week.
