Box Score LAURINBURG, N.C. - Campbellsville took the road for a Mid-South Conference match against St. Andrews, adding another 3-0 sweep to the win column.
The Tigers (15-2, 3-0 MSC) picked up the victory, 25-15, 25-17, 25-16 at the knights of St. Andrews.
Another hot start carried the momentum for the Tigers. CU held their hitting percentage above .450 throughout the match. Campbellsville finished with 41 kills on 69 attacks. Campbellsville was able to boast a .478 hitting percentage, which is second highest on the season. Their highest came against Geneva which was at .485.
Senior
Rafael Cruz paved the way for Campbellsville, killing 13 of his attempted 16 attacks. This was a season-high hitting percentage of .688 for Cruz.
Defensively, CU held the Knights to 14 kills. St. Andrews took a total of 58 attacks, equaling a .103 hitting percentage, their second lowest on the season.
Three blocks and 18 digs as a team, contributed to this outcome. It was
John Montalvo matching his game high seven digs who led the way.
Jeremy Hernandez and
Joudiel Poveymirow also chipped in with three digs apiece.
Campbellsville's
Yannik Ahr also contributed double digit kills with 10. Ahr filled the stat sheet with two assists, one service ace, and one dig. Both
Ryan Smith and
Jeremy Hernandez pitched in with 17 and 15 assists, respectively.
Adding another sweep, the NAIA No. 1 Tigers grow to 15-2 on the season and sit tied for first in the Mid-South Conference with a 2-0 record.
The Tigers will remain down in Laurinbug, N.C. tomorrow, as they battle another MSC opponent in Reinhardt University. This match is scheduled to start at 3 p.m. The Eagles enter the contest 3-8 and 1-1 inside conference play.
