Box Score Campbellsville, KY.—The Tigers Basketball team trailed for only 1:55 and picked up a big Mid-South Conference win over rival Lindsey Wilson 72-56.
Campbellsville (16-11, 6-7 MSC) held the Blue Raiders (17-10, 6-7 MSC) well under their season average of 80 points per game and their season field goal percentage of 46%, as they hit 19-of-57 (33%) of their field goal attempts due to stellar defense.
A Reece Brooks triple cut the Tiger lead to 8, but an 8-0 run to end the contest for the Tigers over the last 2:15, put the Blue Raiders away for good as they went scoreless the last three minutes of play.
A strong first half by Campbellsville guards led the way in the first half as
Richie Mitchell had eight points and
Taiveyhon Mason pitched in 6 points.
Ronald Taylor failed to score in the first half but grabbed 7 rebounds.
The Tigers struggled shooting in the first half hitting 12-of-31 shots, but sparks off the bench provided by
De'Undra Singleton,
Jacob King, and
Sam Weining helped carry the offense as they chipped in 5 points apiece, as the Campbellsville bench outscored the Lindsey Wilson bench 15-0.
The Tigers shot the ball much better in the second half as they hit 16-of-30 (53.3%) as most of their points came from inside the arc. The Tigers also shared the ball very well in the second half as 10 of their 17 assists came in the half including six from
Taiveyhon Mason.
Taiveyhon Mason led the way for the Tigers with 16 points. Three more were in double figures as
Richie Mitchell,
Lenorris Mincey, and
De'Undra Singleton pitched in 15,11,and 10 respectively.
Ronald Taylor only scored two points, but led the Tigers with 12 rebounds.
Campbellsville will return to action on Thursday, February 20, as they host the Saints of Thomas More for senior night at 8 p.m. ET.
