CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After a week off from competition, the No. 1 Tigers will return to the court on Saturday to host the Lincoln College.
Campbellsville (18-2, 6-0 MSC) coming off of its sixth consecutive straight-set win will welcome the Lynx (2-13) into the Gosser Gym at 11 a.m. ET for a non-conference bout.
As the NAIA's top ranked team, the Tigers rank among the top 10 teams in the country in aces (116), assists (776), kills (836), blocks (150), hitting percentage (0.289), and digs (646).
Individually, it's been the defensive numbers from
John Montalvo and
Ramon Matos who lead the Tigers in digs and blocks. Montalvo, typically playing in the libero position ranks ninth in the NAIA in digs with 168, while middle blocker,
Ramon Matos is tenth in blocks with 58 on the year.
Offensively,
Yannik Ahr and
Rafael Cruz lead Campbellsville in kills as Ahr averages 2.9 per set to lead the team, and Cruz' 182 on the year, rank him 17
th in the country.
On the other side of the net, Lincoln College has had its share of struggles this season, only recording eight set wins through fifteen matches this season.
Jonathan Lindner has led the Lynx throughout the season average 2.5 kills per set, while totaling 14 aces on the year.
On the defensive side, Trenton Kielion has picked up 2.57 digs per set to rank 21
st in the NAIA and lead Lincoln College.
The Lynx will battle Midway University on Friday before traveling to Gosser for the late morning tilt with the Tigers.
Following this match, the Tigers will return to Gosser Gym for two matches next week with MSC foe Cumberland University on Tuesday at 7 p.m. ET and the No. 9 Aquinas College on March 8
th at 4 p.m. ET.
