Harris, Hardin, McGuire and Escobar score points in 800m relay to start NAIA Championship

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. — The NAIA Men's Swimming and Diving Championships began on Wednesday with the 800m relay and Campbellsville scored two points with a 16th place finish.

The relay team made of RJ Harris, Tucker Hardin, Collin McGuire and Sebastian Escobar set a new team record with a time of 7:13.68.

"They guys raced hard and very well together," said coach Casey Bradstreet. "Their exchanges were solid, they won their heat in the prelims, and setting a new team record is an exciting way to start the NAIA Championship meet."

The previous team record was set in the 2017-18 season with a time of 7:26.87. The Tigers demolished that time by over 13 seconds.

Day 2 of the NAIA Championship begins on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. ET with prelims for the 50, 200, and 500 freestyle races, the 200 IM, 400 medley relay and 1-meter diving competition at the Allan Jones Aquatic Center.
