CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Following their huge NAIA top 10 win over Aquinas College, the Tigers come back with a quick turnaround, getting back to Mid-South Conference action as they visit Thomas More on Tuesday.
Campbellsville (20-2, 6-0 MSC) enters the contest in the midst of an eight game winning streak, having already swept the Saints (4-11, 1-3 MSC).
Since their previous meeting on February 11
th, Thomas More has struggled mightily as they have lost eight straight matches, only winning six sets in that span.
In their last meeting, CU used 25-15, 25-13, and 25-13 straight set wins behind 11 kills from
Yannik Ahr and five from both
Jason Camacho, and
Nils Kleinschmidt.
Through the quick three setter, the Tigers were able to swing for 0.406, while limiting the Saints to -0.056.
As a team, the No. 2 Tigers rank in the NAIA's top five teams in service aces (131), blocks (168), assists (860), and kills (923).
Individually, it is
Ramon Matos and
John Montalvo that rank near the top of the NAIA standings as Matos is eighth in blocks (71), and Montalvo ranks 11
th in digs (188).
For Thomas More, it has been Mason Cobler who leads the Saints in kills (110) and aces (14).
Campbellsville will return home on Thursday to begin a five-game home stand from March 12
th to March 17
th. Thursday's contest with Cumberland University will begin at 7 p.m. ET.
