CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Following their 4-0 win on the road this past Sunday, the Campbellsville University men's soccer team will welcome the Brescia University Bearcats to Finley Stadium for a 7 p.m. ET kickoff at Finley Stadium on Saturday.
This will be the first of two regular season home games for the Tigers during the fall of 2020 and the first of their three remaining official contests of the fall.
For fans interested in attending the soccer game on Saturday night, no fans will be allowed to enter Finley Stadium due to the current construction of the new press box. Fans can gather, socially distanced and wearing masks, outside of the fences of the field at Finley Stadium.
In the Tigers' 4-0 win over Oakland City on Sunday, CU had four different goal scorers in
Tom Edge,
Gianluca Contegno,
Scott Brooksbank, and
Sergio Tarrida. Three of the four goals were assisted as
Gustav Oskarsson on two of the goals and
Matys Savigny assisted on another as Oskarsson earned the Mid-South Conference Offensive Player of the Week for his ability to control the play on Sunday.
In net, head coach
Adam Preston got both of his goalkeepers some action on Sunday with
Jeremi Campagnolo earning the start and playing 75 minutes while making three saves on his way to MSC Defensive Player of the Week.
Edoardo Forastieri finished up the shutout in the final 15 minutes while making a save in his limited action.
Brescia is 3-2 on the season so far coming into play on Saturday with a season-opening win against Taylor University then currently on a two-game winning streak against Carlow University and St. Mary of the Woods College.
Their leading goal scorer is Samuel Coxon as he's scored three goals in the Bearcats' five games as he's recorded a goal in two of the three wins for Brescia. Javier Morejon, Christopher Cory, and Luis Baldivieso all have two goals this season as well.
The Tigers will have a couple of scrimmages after Saturday's game before getting back to regular season play on Wednesday, Oct. 21 when they play Midway on the road.
