Tiger volleyball set for home opener against Tusculum on Saturday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Following a pair of road matches last week and a cancelation of a match scheduled for tonight, the Campbellsville University men's volleyball team will play their home opener this Saturday when they host Tusculum University at 2 p.m. ET at Gosser Gymnasium this Saturday.

TIGER NOTES
  • CU enters the match 1-1 after a win at Goshen and a loss at Indiana Tech last week where the Tigers fell behind 2-0 in sets in each match.
  • The individual performances of Jason Camacho, Jeremy Hernandez, and Jay Montalvo led to the trio to be named the Attacker, Setter, and Defender of the Week in the Mid-South Conference on Monday.
  • Since moving to playing all of their home matches in Gosser in 2019 under head coach Eric Snyder, Campbellsville is 16-1 all-time in home matches with their only defeat coming at the hands of 2019 No. 4 Missouri Baptist University.

SCOUTING TUSCULUM
  • The Pioneers opened their 2021 season on Thursday when they dropped a 3-1 match to North Greenville University.
  • In that match, Shaun Kampshoff was the team's leading attacker with 13 kills in the match and a .114 hitting percentage.
  • Kampshoff finished tied for the team lead in digs with six as Dane Loup also had six digs with seven kills.
  • Setter Lucas Blanco had 27 total assists in the match to lead Tusculum in the match while adding three digs, one kill, and a block assist.

LOOKING AHEAD
  • Next week, Campbellsville men's volleyball will hit the road for a single road match next Wednesday against Lewis University in Romeoville, Ill. before participating in the NCCAA Invitational on Jan. 22-23.
