Tigers take to Western Tennessee for road games at Freed-Hardeman and Bethel

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University men's basketball team will head back on the road this Thursday and Saturday as they will head down to Tennessee for matchups against Freed-Hardeman and Bethel.
 
Thursday's game at Freed-Hardeman will tip off at 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT in Henderson, Tenn. with Saturday's game in McKenzie, Tenn. against Bethel will tip at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT.
 
BROADCAST AND ATTENDANCE INFORMATION
  • No visiting fans or spectators will be allowed in the Brewer Sports Center at Freed-Hardeman as only a limited number of FHU students, faculty, staff, and donors will be allowed to attend games.
  • Bethel will allow all fans to attend their basketball games under certain guidelines that include wearing masks at all times, maintaining six feet of distance between family groups, and not intermingle with players before or after the game.   • Matt Payton, the voice of Tiger basketball, will be making the trip to be on the call for both games on WLCU-FM 88.7 The Tiger as the audio only feed will also be aired online at www.campbellsvilletigers.com/watch.
  • Both home teams will stream the video broadcasts online with the Freed-Hardeman game at https://portal.stretchinternet.com/fhu/ and the Bethel game at www.bethelathletics.com/f/WildcatVision.php.
 
TIGER NOTES
  • Campbellsville is in the midst of a five-game losing streak as their last win came on the road against Lindsey Wilson College on Jan. 2.
  • During four of those five games, the Tigers have been within seven or fewer points of the lead at halftime but have been outscored by 11 or more points in the second half of every game.
  • Overall during the five-game stretch, CU is shooting 41.6 percent from the field and 35.8 percent from three-point range and have had a -50 overall rebounding margin in those games combined.
 
Campbellsville Tigers (6-8, 4-7 MSC) @ Freed-Hardeman Lions (9-5, 4-4 MSC)
Thursday, Jan. 21, 9 p.m. ET/8 p.m. CT – Smith-Kirk Court, Henderson, Tenn.
  • FHU earned a win against Campbellsville part of CU's five-game losing streak as they earned an 85-77 win at the Powell Athletic Center on Jan. 11.
  • Since that game, the Lions are on their own three-game losing streak that includes losses to Thomas More, Shawnee State and Bethel over the last week.
  • Leading scorer Kortland Martin is averaging 17.4 points per game on the season and had a strong 29-point, seven-assist effort against the Tigers on Jan. 11 to help the Lions knock off CU.
 
Campbellsville Tigers (6-8, 4-7 MSC) @ Bethel Wildcats (7-8, 2-8 MSC)
Saturday, Jan. 23, 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT – Crisp Arena, McKenzie, Tenn.
  • Bethel and Campbellsville met at the Powell Athletic Center way back on Dec. 3 as the Tigers earned a 92-72 win behind a 25-point performance from Alston Davis as the senior hit seven three-pointers.
  • The Wildcats have won three of their last five games, including two MSC games and their most recent game against Freed-Hardeman by a 21-point margin.
  • Forward Chandler Clements is the leading scorer for BU as he will come into the game averaging 18.9 points per game with Kamron Rose just behind him at 14.8.
  • Both Clements and Rose scored in double figures against CU on Dec. 3 with Rose leading the way at 20 points in the contest and Clements struggling from the field shooting 5-of-19 with 14 points.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
  • Once returning from these pair of road games, the Tigers will begin a stretch of three-straight home games starting on Thursday, Jan. 28 against Pikeville.
