Columbia, KY- The Tigers were down the road in Columbia over the weekend when they faced off against Lindsey Wilson and Martin Methodist.
Campbellsville came away with a win against Martin Methodist when they defeated them 174-46 and placing second against Lindsey Wilson 145-99.
The team saw four event wins come throughout the meet.
Sebastian Escobar contributed to three of those wins. The first win came from the 1,000-yard freestyle when he won with a school record time of 9:58.27 which was almost two minutes ahead of second places Daniel Villanueva of Martin Methodist at 11:41.24.
In the 200-yard butterfly Escobar was able to win by three seconds at 2:01.72. He rounded out his final win in the 800-yard freestyle relay joined by
Ian Lopez,
Noah Ackermann, and
Benjamin Burnison.
Israel Kolomiyets joined Escobar in the winner's category in his specialty during the 200-yard breaststroke. Kolomiyets outreached Lindsey Wilson's Tyler Buffel at the wall with a 2:18.11 time while Buffel was at 2:18.25. He had another close finish in the 100-yard breaststroke earlier in the day when the top three individuals in the event were separated by less than .5 seconds. First place came in at 1:02.88, second place was 1:03.14, and Kolomiyets came in third at 1:03.27.
Campbellsville is scheduled for one final tune-up on Wednesday January 27 back in Columbia before heading to the Mid-South Conference Championships in early February.
