TIGER NOTES
- Despite the current losing streak, CU's Taiveyhon Mason remains towards the top of the Mid-South Conference scoring leader board as the senior is averaging 20.8 points per game, good for second in the conference.
- If Mason continues at that scoring average, he will be the first Tiger to average 20 or more points per game since Zach Allender averaged exactly 20 in the 2008-09 season.
- Mason is also the team's leader in minutes played as he is averaging 34.3 minutes per game, the only other player on the team with over 30 minutes per game is junior Sam Weining, who sits at 30.5 minutes per game.
- Three-point shooting has been part of the struggle for CU as they are shooting 36.1 percent from distance, which ranks them seventh in the Mid-South Conference as a team.
Campbellsville Tigers (6-10, 4-9 MSC) vs. Pikeville Bears (8-8, 6-7 MSC)
Thursday, Jan. 28, 7 p.m. ET – Powell Athletic Center, Campbellsville, Ky.
- The Tigers and Bears met back on Dec. 8 in Pikeville, Ky. as UPike came out on top of an 83-76 final in CU's second conference game of the season.
- In that game, Mason (26) and Brayden Sebastian (16) combined for 42 of the team's 76 points as the pair hit five of the team's nine made three pointers while Mason added nine rebounds and Sebastian grabbed four boards.
- UPike had four players in double figures in that game led by an uncharacteristic 17 from Jacob Brown as that was his season-high for point in a game with leading scorer Malcolm Brown (14.9 ppg) finishing the game with 14 points.
- Currently, the Bears have won three of their last four games with wins against Lindsey Wilson, Life, and Martin Methodist as they split back-to-back games with Life on Jan. 18 and Jan. 21.
Campbellsville Tigers (6-10, 4-9 MSC) vs. Cumberlands Patriots (14-5, 8-5 MSC)
Saturday, Jan. 30, 2 p.m. ET – Powell Athletic Center, Campbellsville, Ky.
- On Dec. 15, the Tigers upset the then No. 15 Patriots in Williamsburg, Ky. by a single point at 76-75 as that game started a three-game MSC winning streak for the Tigers.
- Unsurprisingly, Mason led the game in scoring with 23 points while adding eight assists and five rebounds with Weining and Max Reyes both adding 14 points in support.
- For UC, Jahi Hinson (20), Tevin Olison (14), and Deng Mayot (10) had double figures in that game, but it was Mayot that needed to hit the front end of one-and-one free throws with 0.3 seconds remaining to tie the game but missed to seal the Tiger victory.
- The Patriots have won five of their last six games heading into a Thursday matchup with Georgetown as they most recently earned double-digit wins at home against Martin Methodist and Life.
