Tigers begin another three games in five days stretch starting Thursday

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – After snapping a three-game winning streak, the Campbellsville University will look to bounce back to their winning ways in a pair of road games on Thursday and Saturday followed by a make-up game scheduled for Monday night at home.
 
Thursday night at 6 p.m. ET, the Tigers will face off against Thomas More University, Saturday afternoon at 2 p.m. ET it will be CU vs. Shawnee State University, and Monday afternoon at 4:30 p.m. ET the Tigers will return home to host Freed-Hardeman University as a make-up for their game originally scheduled for Dec. 5.
 
FAN ATTENDANCE POLICIES
  • Thomas More University's indoor event policy will allow 7.5 percent capacity or 90 individuals into the Connor Convocation Center with no visiting fans to be allowed into the building.
  • Shawnee State's attendance policy is 15 percent capacity with no visiting fans allowed into the building.
  • Campbellsville University recently extended their attendance protocol to allow no outside spectators for the remainder of the month of January.
 
BROADCAST INFORMATION
  • The road games will have video broadcasts provided by the home institutions at the links above.
  • WLCU-FM, 88.7 The Tiger will provide the radio broadcasts for the road games with Matt Payton providing play by play as the audio broadcast will also air on www.campbellsvilletigers.com/watch.
  • Monday's home game against Freed-Hardeman will air on WLCU-TV, Comcast 10, along with the radio broadcast as Payton will be joined by CU Hall of Famer Benji Kelly.
  • Fans can watch online at www.campbellsvilletigers.com/watch and also on their streaming apps - Roku, Amazon FireStick, and Apple TV - by searching CU Sports Network.
 
Campbellsville Tigers @ Thomas More Saints
Thursday, Jan. 7, 6 p.m. ET – Connor Convocation Center, Crestview Hills, Ky.
  • Thomas More earned wins against the Tigers in both of their meetings last season, holding CU under 50 points on both occasions.
  • This season, the Saints come into the game at an even 3-3 record, currently on a three-game losing streak against Pikeville, Cumberlands, and Shawnee State.
  • TMU is led by a pair of double-digit scorer's in Ryan Batte (19.3 ppg) and Reid Jolly (17.2 ppg) as the tandem also are the top two leading rebounders on the team with Jolly leading at 6.7 rebounds per game and Batte right behind at 5.3 rebounds per game.
 
Campbellsville Tigers @ Shawnee State Bears
Saturday, Jan. 9, 2 p.m. ET – Waller Gymnasium, Portsmouth, Ohio
  • SSU swept Campbellsville in all three of their matchups, including the MSC tournament first round game as the closest contest last season came in a 73-71 Shawnee State win in Portsmouth.
  • The Bears have gotten off to a strong 10-2 record with their only losses coming against Rio Grande and Cumberland University as they will meet Georgetown College on Thursday, prior to hosting the Tigers.
  • Two-time MSC Defensive Player of the Year, EJ Onu is nearly averaging a double-double with 17.2 points per game and 9.4 rebounds per game through 12 games.
  • Wing James Jones was named Player of the Week in the conference after scoring 28 and 26 in wins against Cumberlands and Pikeville respectively last week and is leading the team in scoring at 21.2 points per game.
 
Campbellsville Tigers vs. Freed-Hardeman Lions
Monday, Jan. 11, 4:30 p.m. ET – Powell Athletic Center, Campbellsville, Ky.
  • This will be the first Mid-South Conference game between the Lions and Tigers as CU holds an all-time 6-5 record against FHU with the last meeting coming in 2018-19, where Campbellsville earned a 90-52 win.
  • The Lions have started the season 7-1 overall and 2-0 in MSC play but have not played since Dec. 29 and have not had a conference game since Dec. 17 as they will face Pikeville and Cumberlands prior to meeting the Tigers on Monday.
  • The trio of Kortland Martin (17.4 ppg), Wanya King (16.8 ppg), and John Musselwhite (15.0 ppg) lead the way for FHU in scoring with Musselwhite being the team's leading rebounder at 8.0 rebounds per game.
 
Following these three games in five days, the Tigers will go back to a somewhat regular conference schedule for the time being when they will face Georgetown for the second time in 10 days on Thursday, Jan. 14 on the road and host Life University on Saturday, Jan. 16.
