CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Opening the season No. 2 in the NAIA rankings, the Campbellsville University men's volleyball team will open their season with matches on Friday and Saturday against Goshen College and Indiana Tech, on the road.
The season opening match at Goshen College will be Friday night at Goshen, Ind. at 7 p.m. ET with the match against Indiana Tech being a Saturday afternoon affair in Fort Wayne, Ind. at 2 p.m. ET. Both teams will provide live video streams and live stats feeds available at links above.
FAN ATTENDANCE POLICIES
- Goshen and Indiana Tech's spectator policy does not allow any outside spectators to attend their athletic events, only teams, officials, and support staff will be allowed inside the gym.
TIGER NOTES
- Campbellsville returns standout libero John Montalvo as the redshirt junior earned All-American honors as well as being named the Mid-South Conference's Player and Libero of the Year.
- CU's all-time leader in kills, Rafael Cruz will return for another go at his senior season due to the NAIA's decision to retain the 2020 eligibility for spring sports as Cruz led all Tigers with 209 kills.
- The Tigers will have a strong mix of returners and newcomers coming off of their successful 23-2 season in 2020 but will be slightly shorthanded to start the season coming off of the break from fall semester to the spring semester.

Friday, Jan. 8, 7 p.m. ET – Ruth Gunden Gymnasium, Goshen, Ind.
- Goshen finished 15-6 overall and 3-3 inside of their conference last season as they ended 2020 on a five-match winning streak before COVID-19 canceled the season.
- GC and CU met in Campbellsville last season as the Tigers earned a 3-0 sweep by set scores of 25-9, 25-20, and 25-12.
- Top attackers Alexander Rabadzhiev and Jack Paraha return for the Maple Leafs as the tandem combined for 408 of the team's 751 kills on the season.
Campbellsville Tigers @ Indiana Tech Warriors
Saturday, Jan. 9, 2 p.m. ET – Schaefer Center, Fort Wayne, Ind.
- Indiana Tech's season opener will be against the Tigers on Saturday as they finished 10-12 with a 2-4 record inside of their conference.
- This season will be the first matchup between the two programs as this is only the second season for the men's volleyball program and IIT.
- The Warriors finished 2020 with four players with triple digit kills as the trio of Daynte Stewart, Mason Milan, and Chase Christiansen all return for Indiana Tech as they lose team leader Cameron Ternent after he finished with 199 kills on the year.
Campbellsville will return home after the weekend to host a pair of home matches next Friday and Saturday when they meet Lourdes University and Tusculum University at Gosser Gymnasium.
