BOWLING GREEN, KY – The Tigers were able to finish the weekend off for the Mid-South Conference Fall tournament with a 2-1 record.
Campbellsville started off Friday when they defeated UT Southern 6-1. The Tigers picked up the early lead in doubles.
Jan Stolin and
Matus Sevcik were able to win their match (6-4) while
Nicolas Verdu and
Hernan Toledo finished off the early lead when they won (7-6).
The Tigers would go on to win five of six matches in singles play. Stolin was able to win his match (6-4, 6-4), Sevcik won his in (6-3, 3-6, 10-6).
Hernan Toledo won his match (7-6, 6-1),
Sebastian Toledo won (6-1, 7-6), and
Mario Sanchez finished out singles play with the win at (6-7, 6-4, 10-3).
Campbellsville went on to fall against Lindsey Wilson 6-1. The Tigers were swept in doubes play before moving onto singles.
Mario Sanchez was able to pick up the lone victory for the Tigers with his (7-6) win.
In the consolation round, CU finished off with one last victory on Saturday afternoon with a 5-2 win over Georgetown. Campbellsville was able to make a comeback in doubles when they were able to pull off the sweep. They came away with a (6-4) win from Verdu and H. Toledo, Stolin and Shimotsuji won (6-1), and S. Toledo and Sanchez won (6-2).
Heading to singles play H. Toledo was able to bring in the first victory for the Tigers with his score of (5-7, 6-4, 10-7). S. Toledo won his next singles match with a score of (7-6, 6-2). Shimotsuji won his match in (6-3, 7-6) and
Pablo Mossenta was able to get into singles play and won his match (3-6, 6-4, 10-4).
