Five PR's and two All-American honors lead the Lady Tigers to an NCCAA National Runner-Up finish Saturday morning

JOPLIN, MO – Lady Tigers saved their best race for last this morning at the NCCAA National Championship earning second place overall and running the fastest average time in program history.
 
The team was led by Emma Steff for the second time this season and having a huge performance on the day. Steff set a new personal best on the course with a time of 18:57.68 which earned her an All-American spot at ninth overall in the race and is now her second All-American honor of her career.
 
Hailey Shank joined Steff in earning All-American honors with her 10th place finish in the race and also running a 15 second PR time of 19:01.27 and also earning her second All-American honor. Shank now moves up the all-time in front of teammate Hailie LaMar.
 
LaMar was able to run her season best coming in as the third man for the Lady Tigers this morning. LaMar placed 16th in the race with her time of 19:26.62. 
 
Coming off an NCCAA Bullock Award, Maggie Lockard closes out her Campbellsville University career with a new PR of 19:56.24 placing 26th in the race.
 
"Maggie set the example of where hard work can get you in this program," said Coach Corbin Harris.
 
T'lea Scott rounded out the Lady Tigers top five in scoring. Scott ran a new PR time of 20:07.82 placing 28th in the race behind Lockard.
 
The final Lady Tigers to come in were Nina Daman and Marlena Sipes. Daman was close to Scott in the race just four positions behind her placing 32nd running a time of 20:19.37. Sipes was the final harrier for the team to come in placing 43rd overall with a lifetime best of 21:03.28.
 
"The biggest thing I challenged them all year was to enjoy the process," said Coach Harris. "I wanted them to go out and run loose. They came in with a chip on their shoulders after conference last week and finished off the season the best way possible."
 
This race now stands atop the fastest team time in Lady Tiger history at 19:29.66. The 2021 team now owns three of the top five fastest times in the program.
 
The Lady Tigers will now look ahead towards indoor track season. The season opener is December 3rd at Sewanee University.
