BARBOURVILLE, Ky. – The Tigers competed in a tri-match with Union College and Lindsey Wilson College this past weekend. Campbellsville came away with a split meet after defeating the Union College Bulldogs 172-79 and a 175-84 loss to the Lindsey Wilson Blue Raiders.
The men began their competition with a 200-yard medley relay.
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown, Nick Grabauskas,
Sebastian Escobar, and
Israel Kolomiyets trailed Lindsey Wilson by one second with a second-place finish of 1:40.84.
Kolomiyets brought in a personal win for the Tigers with a first-place time of 1:03.12 in the 100-yard breaststroke. Escobar posted a second-place finish in the 200-yard butterfly with a time of 2:00.71 two seconds behind Lindsey Wilson.
In the next two events, the Tigers posted two top-three finishes. Crewe-Brown brought in a third-place finish in the 100-yard freestyle, posting a time of 50.17.
John Carter Chappell also placed third in the 200-yard backstroke with a time of 2:06.56.
Campbellsville would post two more top-two personal finishes. Escobar would take the top spot in the 500-yard freestyle with a top time of 4:46.99.
Ian Lopez took home a second-place finish in the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 54.58.
The Tigers fought hard in the final event bringing in a second-place finish. Kolomiyets, Grabauskas, Crewe-Brown, and Escobar competed in the 200-yard freestyle relay posting a final time of 1:29.77, only two seconds off Lindsey Wilson.
Campbellsville will look to make a splash as they return to action at the Igloo Invitational. The two-day event will take place on Friday November 19
th and Saturday November 20
th in Sewanee, Tennessee.
