Lady Tigers head to MSC Quarterfinal matchup with Lindsey Wilson

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Following a 3-1 win at home against Freed-Hardeman University the Opening Round, the Campbellsville University women's soccer team move onto the Mid-South Conference Tournament quarterfinals against Lindsey Wilson College this Friday.
 
The Lady Tigers and Blue Raiders will play in the final game of the day that will start at 6 p.m. ET/5 p.m. CT at Blue Raider Stadium in Columbia, Ky. as Lindsey Wilson will host the quarterfinals and semifinals on Friday and Saturday before the championship game comes to Campbellsville next Saturday Apr. 10.
 
LADY TIGER NOTES
  • Campbellsville scored three goals for the first time since Mar. 9 in their opening round game against FHU, getting goals from Rebecca Lilley and Jessie Bryson.
  • Lilley and Bryson were part of a group of five Lady Tigers that earned All Mid-South Conference Second Team honors that also included Abigail Proctor, Milena Derougeur, and Erin Riden with Lauren Woodcock being named All-MSC Honorable Mention.
  • Proctor was also named the MSC Freshman of the Year as the first Lady Tiger to earn that honor since Brandie Hagerman did so in 2010.
  • Freshman goalkeeper Irene Piazzi got her first start of the season in the opening round game after only making a single appearance off the bench in the regular season as she allowed the one goal but face no other shots on goal.
 
SCOUTING LINDSEY WILSON
  • The Blue Raiders finished as the No. 3 seed in the Mid-South Conference regular season as they went 8-2 on the season with their only games played being Mid-South Conference games.
  • LWC's losses came against University of the Cumberlands and Martin Methodist College, who finished No. 1 and No. 2 in the regular season ahead of the Blue Raiders.
  • Lindsey Wilson won their regular season matchup with Campbellsville 2-1 in overtime as the Lady Tigers have still never been able to earn a win against LWC.
  • Yudaya Nakayenze is the Blue Raiders leader in goals scored as she has five through the regular season with three other players scoring multiple goals on the short season.
 
LOOKING AHEAD
  • The team that wins will head to the semifinals to play the winner of Cumberlands vs. Thomas More on Saturday at 5 p.m. ET/4 p.m. CT in Columbia.
