Tiger basketball alum, Dii'Jon Allen-Jordan, dies at the age of 27

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — Campbellsville University athletics is saddened to confirm the death of Tiger Basketball Alum, Dii'Jon Allen-Jordan.

Allen-Jordan passed away on Tuesday morning in a car accident. He was 27 years old.

"We are saddened to hear the passing of former Tiger, Dii'Jon Allen-Jordan." said head coach Brent Vernon. "Dii'Jon was one of the kindest, most caring young men that I have had the privilege to coach. His selflessness and desire for his teammates to succeed made him an invaluable leader on and off the floor.

"The many awards and accomplishments that DJ earned while at CU, while astonishing, pale in comparison to how great of a person he was.  Please keep his family and friends in your prayers during this time."

Funeral services haven't been announced as of Tuesday afternoon.

Allen-Jordan, a 6-foot-6 small forward from Plainfield, N.J., was named an All-American in 2015-16 for the Tigers and was drafted with the 102nd pick in the NBA D-League Draft in Oct. 2016.

He finished ranked No. 3 in the NAIA in total rebounds (343), No. 6 in blocks (69), No. 12 in steals (61), and No. 17 in field goal percentage (54.1%). During the national tournament, Allen-Jordan averaged 18.2 points and 9.5 rebounds per game.
