LOUISVILLE, KY – Campbellsville came in and proved a statement this afternoon in one of the highly sought out meets to get into this afternoon in Louisville.
The Tigers were able to bring a top five finish home this afternoon placing fourth overall with 40 teams in the field.
Christy Shank was the story of the day with her top ten finish and setting a new PR of 18:54.8. That time now jumps her up to third on the Campbellsville 5K top ten listing.
Emma Steff had a new season best this afternoon placing 24
th on the day with a time of 19:28.3. Joining Steff in a season best was
Hailey Shank. Hailey placed 44
th overall with her time of 19:57.6.
Rookie
Meredith Wilson has worked her way up the lineup the past two meets. Wilson came in as the fourth man on the day with a time of 20:04.3 and placing 49
th overall.
T'lea Scott rounded out Campbellsville's top five Saturday. Scott was close behind Wilson at 51
st running a 20:05.5.
Hailie LaMar saw herself further back in the lineup today coming in as the sixth man. LaMar finished the race in 20:26.0 while stilling being able to come in a clutch top 70.
Nina Daman was the seventh man on the afternoon with a time of 20:45.1 placing 102
nd.
Campbellsville ran an average time of 19:42 which is the third fastest average time in program history. The teams 1-5 spread was wider with Christy having a top ten time, but they were able to keep it narrowed to 1:10 on the day.
The Tigers will conclude the regular season on October 22
nd when they travel to the NAIA Top 25 loaded field at the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
