JOPLIN, MO – Emma Steff has once again rewrote the Campbellsville record books. She set the school record for the fastest woman in program history passing Miranda Meeks who held the record since 2007 with a new time of 18:07.00.
Steff was on the heels of Grace College's Kylie Sauder and Heather Plastow who finished first and second in the race at 18:05.1 for the pair. Steff finished third only a narrow two second behind the duo in her time of 18:07.00 earning NCCAA All-American honors.
Hailey Shank was the second harrier to come in this afternoon. Shank ran a new PR of 18:57.3 placing eighth overall and earning NCCAA All-American honors. Coming in as the third man was
Christy Shank. Shank was able to still run a consistent race placing 12
th and running 19:17.2.
T'Lea Scott had herself a big day on the course with a 13 second PR to her name. Scott was able to place 18
thindividual in the race and running a 19:37.7.
Marlena Sipes was the fifth runner in for the Tigers today. Sipes previous PR was set at 21:04.8, she hit 20:34.00 and placed 28
th in the race.
Nina Daman and
Madison Welch finished out the top seven for Campbellsville. Daman was able to come across the line in 20:57.8 while Welch was close behind in 21:25.8. Daman placed 36
th while Welch was 38
th.
Campbellsville was able to finish second overall at the NCCAA Championships with a team score of 66. Grace College won the meet with 34 points. With Steff now holding the fastest time in program history, that is her ninth school record she has set in the 2022 calendar year.
Christy Shank will have one more week to her season as she will travel to Tallahassee, Fla. for the NAIA National Championships.
