Shank earns bronze as Campbellsville finishes third at Mid-South Conference Championship

BOWLING GREEN, KY. – Christy Shank, a sophomore from Indian River, Mich., finished third overall this afternoon leading Campbellsville at the Mid-South Conference Championship. Shank's finish is the highest since 2008 when Miranda Meeks won the individual title for the women's program. 
 
Christy finished the race with a time of 19:21.2, earning First Team All-Conference. Hailey Shank would follow shortly behind her sister, finishing in 20:13.6 and placing 11th. Right behind her in 12th was Emma Steff crossing the line in 20:17.5. Both Hailey and Emma earned Second Team All-Conference. 

Nina Daman was the next Tiger to finish inside the Top-35 with her time of 21:20.5. Rounding out the top five was T'Lea Scott ending with a 21:24.5 time, seconds behind Daman. Campbellsville's 1-5 spread was 2:03. 
 
Marlena Sipes and Meredith Wilson rounded out the seven with times of 21:44.5 and 22:20.2, respectively. The Lady Tigers finished third overall as a team out of 11 schools. 
 
Christy Shank earned an automatic qualifier to the 2022 NAIA Women's Cross Country Championships. This will take place in Tallahassee, Florida on November 18th. Campbellsville as a team will now play the waiting game as the NAIA team qualifiers will be announced by November 8th at 6 p.m. ET. The Lady Tigers currently sit in the receiving votes category.
