BOWLING GREEN, Ky. — The #13 Campbellsville University Tigers took to Ephram White Gymnasium in Bowling Green, Kentucky for the Mid-South Conference Men's Wrestling Championships on February 18^th and 19^th. The Tigers saw five top-three finishes across the tournament including David Richardson taking first in the 184 lb. weight class.

David Richardson took the top spot in the 184 lb. weight bracket. The senior Richardson went 3-0 in the tournament:

• Quarterfinal - Richardson won by fall over Gabe Smith (Lindsey Wilson College) (Fall 5:18)
• Semifinal - Richardson won by technical fall over David Gilbert (Thomas More University) (TF 4:46 (21-5))
• 1^st Place Match - Richardson won by decision over Harold Gilmore (Cumberlands) (Dec 7-4)

In the 133 lb. division, Cameron Henderson (2-1) placed 3^rd:

• Semifinal - Keshawn Laws (Cumberland University) won by major decision over Henderson (MD 12-4)
• Consolation Semifinal – Henderson won by fall over Obi Smith (Lindsey Wilson College) (Fall 4:15)
• 3^rd Place Match - Henderson won by decision over Nate Becker (Lindsey Wilson College) (Dec 5-4)

For the 149 lb. wrestlers, Dayton Marvel (2-1) placed 2^nd:

• Quarterfinal - Marvel won by decision over Eli Clemmons (Cumberland University) (Dec 5-4)
• Semifinal - Marvel won by decision over Kaleb Clark (Midway University) (Dec 2-1)
• 1^st Place Match - Ryan Moore (Thomas More University) won by major decision over Marvel (MD 8-0)

Chandler Woenker, in the 165 lb. bracket, placed 3^rd going 4-1:

• Championship Round 1 - Woenker won by fall over Kailan Keith (Thomas More University) 23-13 (Fall 4:15)
• Quarterfinal - Woenker won by fall over Micheal Long (Cumberland University) (Fall 2:03)
• Semifinal - Cole Smith (Cumberland University (Tenn.)) won by decision over Woenker (Dec 6-5)
• Consolation Semifinal - Woenker won by technical fall over Kailan Keith (Thomas More University) (TF 4:34 (15-0))
• 3^rd Place Match - Woenker won by fall over Weston Milnes (Cumberlands) (Fall 4:22)

For the 165 lb. division, Gavin Smith (3-1) took 2^nd:

• Championship Round 1 - Smith won by technical fall over Ryan Draughn (Thomas More University) (TF 3:51 (16-0))
• Quarterfinal - Smith won by technical fall over Tyler Norton (Midway University) (TF 3:47 (16-0))
• Semifinal - Smith won in overtime over Weston Milnes (Cumberlands) (OT 13-7)
• 1^st Place Match - Cole Smith (Cumberland University) won by major decision over Smith (MD 8-0)

On day one, the Tigers participated in the 2022 Men's Wrestling Futures Tournament where underclassmen hit the mat against one another. Campbellsville finished second in the six-team event and had four wrestlers take the crown in their individual divisions — the most of any institution at Friday's tournament: Cole Fort (141 lb.), Cade Meier (149 lb.), Jaden Sonner (184 lb.), and Dylan Cooper (285. Lb.). Sonner was selected as the wrestler of the tournament by coaches' vote following the action. Sonner won his weight class title with a technical fall in the title match while grabbing a pin in just 44 seconds in the semifinals.
 
The Tigers will now turn their focus to the NAIA Championships in Wichita, Kansas beginning Friday, March 4^th.
