CRESTVIEW HILLS, KY – The Tigers came away from Crestview Hills with a 5-2 victory over the Saints Saturday afternoon.
Jan Stolin and
Satoshi Yamada earned the first victory on the day in their double's matchup. Stolin and Yamada took down their opponent in a (6-4) win.
Hernan Toledo and
Nicolas Andrade came in at the two spot in doubles play and earned the final victory in double's play at (6-3).
Stolin was pushed to a three-set match in his singles match. Stolin fell in the first set (3-6). He came back around in the second and third set (6-4, 6-0) to win his match 2-1.
Andrade made lightwork of his opponent, creating an easy victory in two sets (6-3, 6-2).
Sebastian Toledo was in the five spot for the Tigers on singles play. Toledo was pushed to a three-set thriller in his matchup against Scott of Thomas More. Toledo fell in the first set (1-6), he came back in the second set with a (6-4) win. In the third set, he pulled out a (13-11) win.
Matus Sevcik was the final Campbellsville athlete to earn victory on the day. Sevcik was in the six spot on the day earning a 2-0 victory over his opponent (6-3, 6-0).
Campbellsville will be on the road Friday March 4
th to face off against Indiana University Southeast. That match will begin at 3:30.
The team will have their home opener on Saturday March 5
th when the Lions of Freed-Hardeman University come to town. That match will begin at 2 p.m.
