CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville fell in a close match Sunday afternoon against the Knights of Marian University 4-3.
The Tigers would start off strong in doubles play as
Jan Stolin and
Satoshi Yamada would win their match with a score of 6-3.
Hernan Toledo and
Nicolas Verdu, were able to take the match by a final of 7-5. In threes, Hunter Sylvester and Jones McNamar would take down the Tigers duo of
Nicolas Andrade and
Grayson Cullen by a score of 6-2.
The Knights Mark Griffin would take the opening singles match over Campbellsville's Stolin in three sets with scores of 6-2, 5-7, and 7-6.
Hernan Toledo would take on Sylvester from Marian and Toledo would win with set scores of 6-2 and 6-1.
Marian would take the next three singles matches against Yamada (6-4 and 6-3), Andrade (3-6, 6-2, and 6-3), and
Sebastian Toledo (6-4, 4-6, and 7-6). Campbellsville would take the final singles match of the day as
Matus Sevcik would take down Marian's Greg Fulling in three sets with scores of 2-6, 7-5, and 6-4.
Campbellsville will return to action on Wednesday March 30 as they will travel down to Williamsburg, Kentucky to take on University of the Cumberlands. That match is set to begin at 2 p.m. ET.
