COLUMBUS, GA – Escobar stepped up to the challenge once again on day three to earn his second All-American honor of the meet.
Escobar once again placed seventh, only this time in the 200-yard freestyle. The junior was less than .03 seconds out of sixth, and .12 seconds out of fifth. The third-place finisher to Escobar places were separated by a mere 1.76 seconds.
In the 200-yard medley relay,
Ian Lopez,
Nicholas Grabauskas,
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown, and Escobar earned 10 points placing 12
th in the relay with a time of 1:35.05.
John Carter Chappell was earned the Tigers three points in the 400-yard IM. Chappell placed 14
th in the consolation finals with a time of 4:15.67.
Heading into the final day of competition Saturday, the Tigers remain in 12
th with 62 team points. They trail Morningside who is in 11
th place by 10 points with 72.
