CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – The Tigers were able to finish off the regular season going 2-1 this week. Campbellsville swept Midway University 7-0, fell to Lindsey Wilson 5-2, and defeated Georgetown College 6-1.
Jan Stolin and
Satoshi Yamada had no trouble defeating their opponent in ones. They took the win in (6-1). The Tigers had
Hernan Toledo and
Nicolas Verdu in the two spot and also were able to pull a (6-1) victory.
Nicolas Andrade and
Sebastian Toledo had more work to do at the three spot but were able to come away with a (6-4) win.
Stolin had was able to take down his opponent with ease (6-1, 6-0) at the one spot. Toledo also pulled out a straight sweep in his matchup while the Tigers also delt with weather calling his match short (6-1, 2-0).
Andrade did not allow a point scored on him in singles play with. (6-0, 6-0) sweep.
Alex Cyrille Lago was able to make an appearance for Campbellsville with his own sweep of (6-1, 6-1).
Matus Sevcik pulled in the final victory for Campbellsville against Midway (6-0, 6-0).
Campbellsville was unable to get things going against the Blue Raiders on Friday. Toledo and Yamada were able to move up to the one spot and earn the doubles victory at (6-3).
Yamada and
Sebastian Toledo were the only others to earn a victory. Yamada won his singles match with a decisive (6-4, 6-2) win and Toledo won (3-6, 6-2, 10-7).
Against Georgetown, Campbellsville did not have any trouble getting through the Tigers. Through doubles, Georgetown gained the 1-0 lead with Andrade and Toledo earning the only victory. Through singles, Campbellsville swept Georgetown. Stolin won (2-6, 7-6, 7-6), Yamada was taken to three sets earning the win at (4-6, 6-2, 6-2), Toledo won in straight sets and did not have any trouble with a (6-2, 6-0) win, Lago won with ease in (6-2, 6-4),
Sebastian Toledo was taken to three sets and earned the victory at (7-5, 4-6, 10-5), and
Mario Sanchez earned the final win for Campbellsville at (6-2, 6-3).
Campbellsville will now turn its full attention towards the Mid-South Conference Tournament on April 21-24 in Bowling Green, KY.
