BOWLING GREEN, KY – Campbellsville had no trouble getting past the Bears of Pikeville in their opening round matchup in the Mid-South Conference Quarterfinal round Friday afternoon.
Instead of the tradition all matches play through, the setup for the postseason play is the first team to four total wins. The team winner through doubles play counts as one total win whereas singles counts as a win at each court.
The Tigers took care of business early on in doubles earning the early point.
Matus Sevcik and
Jan Stolin were able to gain the teams first point along with
Hernan Toledo and
Satoshi Yamada putting the final touch on singles play with both winning (1-0).
In singles play, the Tigers only needed three more victories to claim the win. Stolin took care of business at twos with the straight set win. Alex Cyrille was the final touch for the Tigers with the win in straight sets over on court six.
The Tigers will now face off against top seeded Lindsey Wilson Saturday at 3 p.m. CT.
