COLUMBIA, Ky. – The Campbellsville University men's swim team placed 2
nd at the Lindsey Wilson Fall Frenzy the past weekend. The Tigers earned over 300 points more than third place Bethel University.
In the Tigers' first contest, the 200-yard freestyle relay, Campbellsville first team placed second with
Sebastian Escobar,
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown,
Lucca Motta, and
Luis Castro swimming a time of 1:30.48. The 500-yard freestyle was next up for Campbellsville where Castro finished third out of ten swimmers with a time of 5:04.24.
In the 400-yard medley, Campbellsville's first-team placed third. Crewe-Brown, Barrero, Escobar, and Castro finalized a time of 3:49.25. The men's 200-yard freestyle showcased five Campbellsville swimmers. Castro captured second place in a time of 1:51.13. In the men's 800-yard freestyle relay, Crewe-Brown, Motta, Escobar, and Castro placed second with a time of 7:28.42.
Two of Campbellsville's swimmers placed top-three in the 1650-yard backstroke. Escobar grabbed second with a time of 17:19.15 and Castro finished third with 17:21.57. In the 200-yard butterfly, Escobar snagged second in a time of 2:05.98. The 400-yard freestyle consisted of Campbellsville appearing on the podium again. A team comprised of Crewe-Brown, Motta, Escobar, and Castro finalized a time of 3:20.89 to earn them third.
The Tigers are set to compete again at Centre College this Friday, September 30
th. The meet will be hosted by Campbellsville in the Powell Athletic Center. The Tigers home opener will begin at 6:30 p.m. ET.
