MARION, IN – The Tigers made a statement at Indiana Wesleyan over the weekend, defeating the Wildcats 172-5.
Campbellsville started out with a win in the 200-yard medley relay.
Jude White,
William Luciano,
Bosco Barrero, and
Lucca Motta touched the wall in 1:48.63.
Grant Luckett and Eli Slaughter went 1-2 in the 1650 freestyle. Luckett held a 4.53-second range over the course of his laps outside his first lap and finished in 20:14.69, while Slaughter went 21:13.95.
Campbellsville swept 1-4 in the 200-yard freestyle.
Sebastian Escobar finished first in the event with a time of 1:48.15.
Benjamin Burnison came in at 1:59.87,
Alexander Burnison finished behind brother Ben in 2:04.72, and Luciano rounded out the group at 2:13.54.
Luis Castro earned the victory in the 100-yard backstroke in 59.70. In the 100 breaststroke Barrero earned the win in 1:06.78, with White and
Logan Pisula coming in behind Barrero in second and third.
Motta and A. Burnison earned the top two spots in the 50 freestyle. Motta went 23.75, and Alex finished in 24.93. The Tigers grouped up in the 100-yard freestyle, finishing in positions 1-5. Escobar won his second event of the day in 48.33, B. Burnison was second in 53.81, Motta earned the bronze in 55.10, A. Burnison finished fourth in 56.46, and Luciano came in fifth in 57.39.
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown came into the winner's circle in the 200-yard backstroke. Crewe-Brown was able to finish the event in 2:07.02. Castro and White finished on the podium in the event. Castro came in at 2:14.91, while White was close behind in 2:15.09.
Escobar's third event win of the day was in the 500-yard freestyle. He finished 16.31 seconds ahead of his nearest competitor in 4:55.25.
