GRAND RAPIDS, MI – Campbellsville fought through tough course conditions Saturday morning to finish 7th at the NAIA Great Lakes Challenge.
The Tigers had to wait three races before their own Saturday morning. This made for rough and muddy footing on the course.
Hailey Shank led the way in the race for Campbellsville with a top-ten finish of 8th in 19:53.70.
Nina Daman and
Emma Steff were close together in the 2-3 spots. Daman was the second man on the day, placing 20th overall in 20:24.20, while Steff was in the third spot at 21:01.60, finishing in 48th.
Meredith Wilson ran a season-best of 21:15.90 placing 56th overall.
Brianna Collins rounded out Campbellsville's top five with her 104th place time of 22:28.00.
Madison Welch was the final runner in for the Tigers, placing 130th overall and running a time of 23:11.90.
The Tigers edged out the University of the Cumberlands in the race. The two teams tied with 201 points, but Campbellsville moved one spot ahead of the Patriots with the scoring coming down to the sixth man.
This concludes the regular season for Campbellsville. The team will be back in action on Friday, November 3rd, for the Mid-South Conference Championships in Bowling Green, KY.
