CAMPBELLSVILLE, KY – The Tigers had their first round of back-to-back swim meets in a 24-hour period over the weekend.

Campbellsville got off to a hot start to the weekend Friday night with a 107-76 win over DIII Asbury University.
The first victory of the evening came in the 200-yard medley relay.
Llewellyn Crewe-Brown,
Bosco Barrero,
Sebastian Escobar, and
Ian Lopez touched the wall in 1:42.24. Escobar turned around in the 200-yard freestyle with his first solo win Friday evening with a time of 1:49.47.
The Tigers stacked up a clean 1-3 sweep in points in the 50-yard freestyle. Lopez won the event in 23.15,
Lucca Motta was runner-up in 23.32, and
Brody McKeel was the bronze medal finisher in 23.88. Crewe-Brown's first individual event on the day was the 200-yard IM, he finished second overall in 2:06.16.
William Luciano picked up a top-three finish in the 200-yard butterfly in 2:33.43. Barrero and
Martin Venegas went 1-2 in the 100-yard freestyle. Barrero picked up the win in 51.96 while Venegas was second in 52.28.
Luis Castro won the 200-yard backstroke in 2:06.91, with teammate
Jude White coming in 3rd on the night in 2:21.52.
Benjamin Burnison and Eli Slaughter came in back-to-back in the 500-yard freestyle. Burnison was second in 5:34.35 and Slaughter was third in 6:01.89. The final individual event scorers of the evening came from the 200-yard breaststroke.
Gavin Johnson was the runner-up in 2:39.12, and
Logan Pisula was third in 2:43.90.
Campbellsville capped off Friday night with one more relay victory in the 200-yard freestyle relay. Barrero, Crewe-Brown, Escobar, and Lopez finished in 1:32.44.
Vs. Bethel
A short rest and the Tigers were back in the water Saturday early afternoon for a dual meet against Mid-South Conference opponent Bethel. The Tigers ended up with a second victory on the weekend of 133-97.
Campbellsville began the meet with a runner-up finish in the 200-meter medley relay in 1:52.68.
Escobar picked up an early win in the meet for the Tigers. He set the school record he previously held since the 2019-20 season in the 1500-meter freestyle. He broke the record by 26 seconds with a new time of 17:17.26. Slaughter was third in the event in 21:24.25.
In the 200-meter freestyle, Campbellsville swept the podium 1-3. Castro led the way with the victory in 2:04.89, Motta was the runner-up in 2:12.50, and Venegas was third in 2:14.44.
Crewe-Brown and White gave the Tigers seven points in the 100-meter backstroke. Crewe-Brown was second in 1:03.31, and White was third in 1:09.07. Barrero and Johnson brought in another seven points in the 100-meter breaststroke. Barrero earned the silver in 1:15.66, and Johnson earned the bronze in 1:15.82.
Lopez tied his school record in the 50-meter freestyle. He was runner-up in the event in a time of 24.55, with Motta bringing in third place in 26.55. For the 100-meter freestyle, Venegas took home another silver for Campbellsville in 58.91 while Burnison was third in 59.32.
Castro set his own school record in the 200-meter backstroke. His previous record was set last season of 2:17.83. On Saturday, he swam a new record time of 2:16.31. Campbellsville had a second podium sweep on the day in the 200-meter breaststroke. McKeel won the event in 2:53.61, Barrero was second in 2:54.73, and Johnson earned the bronze in 2:59.73.
Motta and Jay secured seven more points coming from the 400-meter freestyle. Motta earned second place in 4:47.42 with Jay earning third place in 5:11.61.
The final podium sweep of the day came from the 200-meter IM. White won his first event on the weekend in a time of 2:37.87, Burnison was the runner0up in 2:38.39, and Pisula was third in 2:42.32.
Barrero, Crewe-Brown, Escobar, and Lopez took home the final points of the day for the Tigers. They finished runner-up in the 200-meter freestyle relay with a time of 1:43.18.
Campbellsville will return to the pool on Friday, October 27th, when they travel to Centre College. The meet will begin at 6 p.m. ET.
