PORTSMOUTH, OH – The Tigers walked away with the victory over the weekend at Shawnee State to finish off the 2023 portion of the schedule.

The meet was set up for the Tigers to be the start of the training period for December, which made for different relay combinations throughout the day. In the 200-meter medley relay, Llewellyn Crewe-Brown, Bosco Barrero, Martin Venegas, and Logan Pisula came away with the win in 1:57.43. 

Sebastian Escobar came away with the first solo win of the day for Campbellsville in the 200-meter freestyle. Escobar finished in 2:02.38, 13.03 seconds ahead of the runner-up. Ian Lopez followed suit in the next event in the 50-meter backstroke. Lopez won the event in 29.16. 

Crewe-Brown earned runner-up in the 50-meter breaststroke, finishing in 33.25 seconds and 2.05 seconds behind first place. Luis Castro earned the Tigers another runner-up finish in the 100-meter butterfly. Castro finished in 1:05.41, .35 ahead of 3rd. 

Lucca Motta was the champion in the 50-meter freestyle with a time of 25.94. For the 400-meter freestyle relay, the B team of Escobar, Castro, Andrew Jay, and Jude White came away with the win in 4:03.03.

Escobar won the 100-meter backstroke over Pikeville's Barton in a time of 1:06.57. Lopez and Crewe-Brown earned the final individual event wins for the Tigers. Lopez won the 50-meter butterfly in 28.70, while Crewe-Brown won the 200-meter IM in 2:23.22. 

Escobar, Castro, Brody McKeel, and William Luciano finished off the day for the Tigers with the win in the 200-meter freestyle relay in 1:44.10.

Overall, Campbellsville defeated Shawnee State 139.00-60.00 and defeated Pikeville 156.00-36.00. 

Campbellsville will now head into the Christmas break before returning to the pool on Friday, January 5th, at the Centre College Invitational.
