LOUISVILLE, KY –
Christy Shank and
Nina Daman closed the gap this weekend, leading the Tigers to an 18th-place team finish at the Greater Louisville Classic on Saturday.
Shank earned a top-30 finish in the race on Saturday with her time of 19:04.80. Daman was able to tighten the gap between the 1-2 this weekend with her performance of 19:20.90 which is a cross country personal best in the 5K.
Brianna Collins remained at the third spot on Saturday for Campbellsville. Collins placed 121st in the race with her finishing time of 20:29.00.
Emma Madding made her second appearance in the Tigers top-five scorers this season as the fourth runner in placing 148th with a time of 20:56.90.
Maggie Jewell was the fifth man, with a 179th-place finish of 21:38.80.
Julia Smaldone and
Anna Claire Carwile were the final Tigers in the top seven. Smaldone was 199th in the race in 22:06.90 and Carwile placed 207th in 22:23.00.
As a team, Campbellsville had an average time of 20:18.08 while having a 1-5 spread of 2:34.00.
The Tigers will return to the course for the regular season finale on Saturday, October 26th, when they travel to Grand Rapids, Michigan, for the NAIA Great Lakes Invitational.
- This is the closest 1-2 gap for the Tigers since the 2020-21 COVID-19 season with Gabrielle Velez and Hailie LaMar.
- Daman has now ran a cross country personal best in the 5K in back to back meets.
