BOWLING GREEN, KY – The Tigers are Mid-South Conference Regular season co-champions with Georgetown College, along with six All-Conference performers as well as
Andres Laboy earning Mid-South Conference Defensive Player of the Year honors and
Aleksa Plevaljcic earning Freshman of the Year honors this season.
Laboy has been Campbellsville's primary defensive specialist this season. He has 529 digs in 2024 and set the school record this year for most digs in school history. Plevaljcic has been the Tigers primary setter for Campbellsville, with 606 so far in 2024, as well as 82 digs. The duo of Laboy and Plevaljcic earned First Team All-Conference honors this season.
JoVeaun Banks and
John-Marcos Gonzalez joined Laboy and Plevaljcic in earning First Team All-Conference honors this season. Gonzalez has been the go-to attacking force for the Tigers this season. He has 359 kills and 48 blocks. Banks leads the team in blocks this season with 84 total and 175 kills.
Denzel Madrigal and
Alonzo Vega earned Second Team All-Conference honors for the 2024 season. Madrigal came on strong in the second half of the season for Campbellsville. He was the second-leading attacker with 260 kills and 30 total blocks to his name. Behind Plevaljcic, Vega has 567 assists this season and 66 digs.
Campbellsville is set to play in the Mid-South Conference semifinal round on Friday, April 19th, at 7:30 p.m. ET. They will play the winner of Cumberland University and Midway. Campbellsville has defeated Cumberland University twice (3-0) and defeated Midway twice (3-0, 3-1).
