COLUMBIA, MO –
Christy Shank ran her cross country personal best in the 5K Friday evening at the Larry Young Invitational to lead the Tigers to a 4th place team finish beating out #23 Missouri Baptist and RV William Woods.
Shank ran the third fastest time in program history on Friday passing Hailey Stallings with a time of 18:31.00 placing 2nd overall.
Nina Daman also came away with a cross country personal best on Friday with her time of 19:23.8 while earning a top-15 spot of 14th overall.
Brianna Collins was the third man in for Campbellsville on Friday, placing 36th in 20:40.5.
Emma Madding made her second appearance in the Tigers top-five, coming in as the fourth man with a time of 20:52.8, placing 41st.
Julia Smaldone was the fifth runner in on the day, giving Campbellsville 56 points, placing 64th overall in 21:43.3.
Maggie Jewell and
Anna Claire Carwile were the final two Tigers in the top-seven. Jewell was the sixth man in with her time of 21:53.4, while Carwile was seventh in at 22:53.6.
As a team, Campbellsville was 4th place with 144 team points and an average time of 20:14.00.
The Tigers will now go into an off weekend before appearing at one of the country's top meets of the Greater Louisville Classic on October 5th.
- This is Shank's first appearance at the 5K distance since April 7th, 2023 at the Gordon Bocock Cumberlands Invitational & Distance Carnival where she ran 18:41.73.
- Campbellsville's 4th placing team points of 144 beat out (RV) William Woods who was 5th with 157 points and Missouri Baptist (23rd) who was 6th with 175 points.
- Nina Daman ran the 9th fastest time in program history on Friday.
