Campbellsville set to continue success in upcoming Track & Field season

CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – The Campbellsville University men's and women's track and field programs focus on small details to increase their competitiveness in preparation for the upcoming season.

Ranard Adkison, the Tigers' head coach, discussed standout returners and notable incoming athletes when asked about the upcoming season, stating, "Our men's and women's teams are led by two elite returners — two-time NAIA indoor 60-meter hurdles national qualifier Makiyah Allen and NAIA All-American 110-meter hurdler Schavon Carr. Their experience and competitive drive set the standard for our entire program."

Coach Adkison continued, "Having the defending women's NCCAA 60-meter hurdles champion in Makiyah Allen, along with the defending NCCAA and Mid-South Conference 110-meter hurdles champion in Schavon Carr, gives our team a tremendous boost this season. They bring leadership, poise, and big-meet experience."

Adkison concluded by expressing excitement for the arrival of several notable incoming athletes. "We're excited about the key new athletes who have joined our program. Freshman hurdler Mohammed Pouye from Italy, pole vaulter Fadi Zayani from Tunisia, and sprinters Joshua Muchenje and Felah Seboka from Botswana bring international experience, competitiveness, and maturity. They have all shown tremendous potential and will make an immediate impact on our program."

Last season, the Tigers saw 11 NAIA Championship qualifiers during the outdoor season and eight for the indoor season. Through their successful campaign, Campbellsville had many athletes named Mid-South Conference Champions, NCCAA National Champions, and All-Americans, while also breaking several school records.

Coach Adkison stated, "Training has been competitive and focused. Our athletes have committed to the small details, and it shows in the way they approach every session."

"Our goal this indoor season is to build consistency and position ourselves to perform at our best at championship meets. Throughout the preseason, we've emphasized discipline and execution. If we stay consistent, we expect to make a strong statement this indoor season. The group has bought into a higher standard, and with this level of focus, we'll be ready to compete with anyone," said Adkison.

The Tigers will kick off their indoor season on Saturday, December 5th, traveling to their meet at the University of Louisville.
