LEBANON, Tenn. – The #9 Tigers took to Tennessee to tackle the #17 Cumberland Phoenix Friday night. Trailing by two team points headed into the heavyweight match,
Gabe Craig pinned his opponent, earning six points and granting Campbellsville the overall victory, 22-18.
Following a five-point advantage after the 125-lb. match, #4
Izaeah Beavers made a return to the lineup and battled back from an early deficit to force overtime with a third-period takedown. In the second extra period, another takedown secured Beavers the victory.
The Phoenix pulled off three consecutive wins from there, including #1
Nik Yancey's sudden victory loss to #11 Victor Guzman. It was #10
Jasitin Kubwimana's 20-4 technical fall against #25 Ethan Gomez put the Tigers back on the board down 15-8.

Brice Parks (with his 5-1 decision over #15 Rocco Horvath) moved Campbellsville ahead 16-15. However, after a close 5-4 loss in the penultimate match, the Tigers trailed by two points headed into the heavyweight bout. That's where Craig came up clutch, pinning Tyler Rowland (#15 in the 197-lb. class) in 2:11.
Next up for the Tigers is a pivotal, home showdown with Mid-South Conference foe, #3 Cumberlands. That dual is set to take place Thursday, February 6th at 7 p.m. at the Hord Family Wrestling Center.

- Slone moves to 9-1 in duals with his only loss coming via decision against #5 Francis Morrissey of Missouri Valley.
