CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Back on their home court, Campbellsville University delivered a dominant performance, sweeping the Red Wolves of Indiana University East in three decisive sets. The Tigers showcased their offensive power and defensive prowess, securing the victory with scores of 25-15, 25-18, and 25-15. 

The Tigers stormed out of the gate in the opening set, establishing an early lead with consecutive kills by Pedro Zavatini and John Marcos Gonzalez. Indiana East briefly threatened, mounting a response that tied the set at 11, but Campbellsville quickly shut down the momentum of the Red Wolves with a powerful kill from Ayoube Hamadache. Despite struggles with service errors on both sides of the net, Campbellsville maintained their composure. The Tigers closed out the set with two more kills from Gonzalez, seizing a 25-16 victory and setting the tone for the match. 

In the second set, Campbellsville continued to assert control, employing a balanced offensive attack and solid defensive strategies to keep Indiana East at bay. The Tigers effectively limited the Red Wolves' opportunities, capitalizing on transition plays to dictate the game's tempo. Campbellsville secured the set with a score of 25-18, moving within one set of completing the sweep. 

With the sweep in sight, Campbellsville came out with high energy in the third set. The score remained close in the early stages, tied at seven before Zavatini delivered a crucial service ace to give Campbellsville a three-point advantage. The Tigers then capitalized on a free ball, with Mason McKinney executing a well-placed kill to extend the lead. Leading by five points, Campbellsville continued to dominate at the net, as Hamadache contributed a key block, stifling the Red Wolves' offensive efforts. Campbellsville demonstrated their offensive firepower, achieving an impressive hitting percentage of .429 in the set, to close it out 25-15 and secure the sweep. 

Campbellsville will return to action on Friday, March 28, traveling to Midway, Ky., to take on the Midway Eagles at 7 p.m. ET in River States Conference play.

• Campbellsville's offense operated efficiently, culminating in an impressive overall hitting percentage of .333 for the match.
• Gonzalez and Zavatini spearheaded the attack, making pivotal plays instrumental in securing the sweep. Gonzalez posted eight kills and a .400 hitting percentage, while Zavatini added four kills and two service aces.
• The setter Vega contributed significantly with 27 assists. Vega was congratulated at the match for exceeding 1,000 assists in his young, collegiate career.
