CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. – Campbellsville University Athletics has named Spencer McCown as the new head coach of the women's flag football program.
"First and foremost, I want to thank Jesus Christ for opening this door and guiding my steps. It's truly a blessing to be entrusted with the opportunity to lead this flag football program, and I don't take it lightly. I'm also deeply grateful to the administration and staff who believed in me and made this possible." McCown said.
When asked about the program's future, McCown stated, "As we move forward, my vision is to build a program rooted in faith, discipline, and unity, where our athletes are developed not only as competitors, but as people of strong character. We're setting a new standard; one of excellence, accountability, and purpose. I can't wait to see what God has in store for us in this next chapter."
McCown will take over as head coach after serving as the team's assistant coach. His promotion to head coach comes after the previous head coach, Chris Kidwell, announced his retirement.
"Lastly, I want to thank Coach Chris Kidwell for his mentorship, guidance, and for paving the way. The foundation he laid is strong, and I'm honored to continue building on it!"
