MARSHALL, Mo. – The #7 Campbellsville University men's wrestling team faced a demanding field this weekend at the Missouri Valley Invite. While the Tigers struggled to advance deep into the championship brackets, several individuals secured key victories, highlighted by a quarterfinal run from
Wyatt Hinton and a ranked win for
Luke Schlosser.
- #22 Wyatt Hinton, wrestling up a weight class at 141 pounds, won his first three bouts to reach the quarterfinals.
- Luke Schlosser (165 lbs.) delivered a statement performance, pinning #25 Nicholas Piña and finishing the weekend with a 3-2 record.
- #23 Cal Beadling (149 lbs.) battled through the consolation bracket, securing two victories, including a major decision.
- Anthony Joseph (157 lbs.) recorded a second-round fall before suffering a narrow sudden-victory loss to a ranked opponent.
- The Tigers posted seven bonus-point victories across the tournament, including four falls and two technical falls.
- Campbellsville returns to home action on Tuesday, January 27, hosting Midway University at 7 p.m. ET.

Wyatt Hinton (133 lbs.) stepped up to the 141-pound division and found early success. He opened with a 4-2 decision over Ian Metz (Dakota Wesleyan) and followed with an 11-0 major decision against Kael Glenn (William Woods). In the third round, Hinton earned a 10-3 decision over Joseph Hutchins (Southeastern) to punch his ticket to the quarterfinals. His run ended there in a tight 2-0 decision loss to #24 Arojae Hart of Central Methodist.
At 165 pounds,
Luke Schlosser posted a strong 3-2 record. After opening with a 17-2 technical fall over Israel Manriquez (Hastings), Schlosser delivered his biggest win of the weekend in the second round, pinning #25 Nicholas Piña (Arizona Christian) in 6:57. He later added a 15-4 major decision over Kévon Russell (Indiana Tech) in the consolation bracket.

Cal Beadling (149 lbs.) bounced back from an opening-round loss to win back-to-back consolation matches. He defeated Tiernan Boots (Marian) by an 8-1 decision and dominated Ryan Buccat (Saint Mary) with a 10-1 major decision.
Anthony Joseph (157 lbs.) also flashed his potential, pinning Peyton Asbury (Central Methodist) in 2:18 during the second round. In the third round, he pushed #25 Ryan Graves (Montana State-Northern) to the limit but fell in sudden victory, 8-5.
Other Tigers contributing bonus points included
Aluma Enwa (125 lbs.), who secured a fall in 1:01;
Levi Collins (165 lbs.), who recorded an 18-3 technical fall; and
Skylar Grant (174 lbs.), who pinned his opponent in 3:50.
Malachi Kapenga (141 lbs.) added two decision victories to the team's effort.
