As the first set commenced, both teams struggled to find a rhythm, plagued by attacking errors that led to back-and-forth scoring early on. Despite the Tigers attempting to seize the momentum, the Pomeroys' offense began firing on all cylinders. Breaking an early deadlock, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods did not lose hold of the advantage for the rest of the set, capitalizing on Campbellsville's out-of-system play to win 25-20.
The start of the second set mirrored the action from the first, as the Tigers struggled to slow the Pomeroys' offense, falling behind 10-4. Searching for a spark, Campbellsville turned to
Ayoube Hamadache. The sophomore delivered a striking terminal kill that ignited a four-point Tiger run, shrinking the Pomeroys' lead to a single point. From that point on, both teams tried to out-hustle one another in a gritty side-out battle. Knotted late in the frame, the Tigers mounted another crucial four-point surge to claim their first lead of the match at 21-19. Campbellsville took control and secured the 25-21 second-set victory with a clutch kill from
Savvas Christou.
The beginning of the third set featured intense energy from both sides of the net, but the momentum had clearly shifted. The Tigers built an early six-point cushion, and the Pomeroys were unable to withstand the newfound defensive pressure from the Campbellsville block, led by
Fernando Rodriguez. The Tigers dominated the remainder of the frame, with kills from both Hamadache and
Denzel Madrigal closing the set with a commanding 25-13 win to take a 2-1 match lead.
Going into the fourth set, Saint Mary-of-the-Woods attempted to relight their fire and force a tiebreaker, but the undefeated Tigers did not let up the pressure.
Alonzo Vega continued to seamlessly set up his offensive weapons, exploiting gaps in the Pomeroy block to find defenseless court. A last-ditch effort by the Pomeroys was not enough to stop the Tigers' high-powered attack, ending the set and match with a 25-19 victory.
