CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. — After posting five wins and five shutouts through its first seven matches, the Campbellsville University women's soccer team continued to receive votes in the second STADIONIC NAIA Women's Soccer Coaches' Top 25 Poll of the regular season.
The Tigers are 5-0-2 overall and 1-0 in Mid-South Conference play. Campbellsville has recorded victories over Brescia University, Union Commonwealth University, the University of Pikeville, Indiana Tech, and Georgetown College, along with draws against Xavier University of Louisiana and then-No. 19 Spring Arbor University.
Campbellsville has outscored its opponents 30-4 while holding advantages of 173-45 in shots, 89-23 in shots on goal, and 43-15 in corner kicks. The Tigers average 4.29 goals and 24.7 shots per match while allowing 0.57 goals and 6.4 attempts per contest.
The Tigers have not conceded a first-half goal this season, outscoring opponents 11-0 before halftime. Campbellsville has added 19 second-half goals while conceding four.
Marta Prieto leads the Tigers with 14 points, recording six goals and two assists on a team-high 30 shots. Julia Ogren has also scored six goals and leads Campbellsville with a .316 shooting percentage among players with at least 10 attempts.
Fiona Jolly and Amelie Matheis have scored five goals apiece. Jolly has added an assist and two match-winning goals, while Matheis has contributed one assist and one match-winner.
Grace Smith has scored three goals, while Laura Munoz has registered two goals and two assists. Oddny Helgadottir has added one goal, two assists, and a match-winning goal.
Campbellsville has received goals from 10 players and assists from 11. The Tigers have placed 51.4% of their shots on frame and converted 17.3% of their total attempts.
Sydney Hall and Verena Schneider have helped Campbellsville post five shutouts. Hall holds a 0.66 goals-against average with 15 saves and a .789 save percentage across 545 minutes, 12 seconds, while Schneider has stopped all three shots she has faced without conceding a goal in 82:31.
Three Mid-South Conference teams appear in the Top 25. The University of the Cumberlands is ranked No. 3, Lindsey Wilson University moved to No. 12, and Cumberland University climbed to No. 19.
Campbellsville is scheduled to visit No. 20 Taylor University at 4 p.m. Wednesday in Upland, Indiana, before returning to Finley Stadium to host Midway University at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.
