The doubles pair of Brendan Aguilar and Chrys Castro came up just short at the ITA Oracle Cup, falling in the finals to Georgia Gwinnett's Jordan Cox and Kevin Konfederak.

The duo came into the tournament with an at-large bid after falling to Lindsey Wilson's Denis Porcic and Alonso Telez in the ITA Regional a few weeks ago but that didn't keep them from making a little noise.

In their opening match, Aguilar and Castro faced No. third-seed McPherson Colleges' Joan-Marc Fajula Rodriguez and Hector Carrillo Perales. Aguilar and Castro swept the competition with a 7-5 first-set win and 6-4 second-set victory to move into the semifinals.
 
CU's top doubles pair would then go on to play second-seeded Raymond Weich and Fabio Perasso from Cardinal Stritch. Aguilar and Castro would go on to lose the first set 7-6 but would rally in the second winning 6-4 and then the tiebreak 1-0.
 
That win put the Tigers into the championship match where they faced top-seeded Georgia Georgia Gwinnet's Jordan Cox and Kevin Konfederak. There the Tigers would run out of gas losing the first set 7-6 and falling in the second, 6-1.

The ITA Oracle Cup appearance in the second-straight for CU, as Vlad Ladygin won the singles regional last year and finished in the Top 5 at the national championship.
