LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- Campbellsville University cross county finished 12
th in both the men's and women's Silver Race at the Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic on Saturday.
Both teams were led by freshman runners, as
Jacob Holz finished 37
th, running the 8K course in 26:56.
Andrew Simmons was second among the Tigers with a time of 27:41, followed by
Bradley Harris 28:11,
Christopher Barrett 29:50,
Garrett Baker 33:36 and Zachary Yarbrough 36:40.
West Virginia Wesleyan College won the race after placing first and second individually with senior runners Barry Franklin and Nate Edwards. Both rank times of 25:30 with Edwards finishing three-tenths of a second behind Franklin.
The top runner for the girls was freshman Sara Johnson, who finished 47th with a time of 20:28. The other times for the women were:

Rebekah Southwood 20:55,
Emily Wesley 21:35,
Jennifer Hatley 21:57,
Natasha Janes 23:17 and
Myra Rose 23:28.
Lindsey Wilson College junior Sharon Ronoh won the women's race, posting the only time below 18 minutes, 17:56.73. She was the only Mid-South Conference runner to finish ahead of Johnson.
The Lady Tigers beat out Lindsey Wilson in the team standings by more than a minute (1:19.51), as the Blue Raiders finished 13
th.
Campbellsville cross country will travel to Portsmouth, Ohio on Friday, Sept. 7 to race the Shawnee State Invitational. The women's race will begin at 4:30 p.m. ET, followed by the men's race at 5 p.m.
