ROME, Ga. -- Four of Campbellsville University's eight men's cross country runners set a personal record (PR) Saturday in the Southeast Cross Country Classic 8K race.

Andrew Simmons, who set a personal record (PR) last week after besting his previous time by 30 seconds, ran a new career-best time Saturday of 26:55 to lead the Tigers. Simmons placed 54
th individually in the field of 309 runners. Campbellsville finished 20
th of 34 teams.
Kyle Howdyshell and
Bradley Harris crossed the finish line in the top half of the competition at 123
rd and 124
th-place. Both set PR times, as Howdyshell ran 28:00.95 with Harris on his heels in 28:01.22.
The fourth PR for the Tigers belonged to first-year cross country runner
Garrett Baker, a junior. Baker was eighth-place among Tigers with a time of 33:04.31
Jacob Holz ran 28:09.28 to finish fourth for Campbellsville, followed by
Christian Black with a time of 30:16.53.
David McKellar was next with a time of 31:02.91. Zachary Yarbrough followed Baker among CU ranks with a time of 38:28.35.
Bryan College claimed first-place, followed by Savannah College of Arts and Design and the University of the Cumberlands.
Embry Riddle runner Evans Kirwa won the race in a time of 24:17.89.

Campbellsville will take a week off before traveling to Portsmouth, Ohio for the Mid-South Conference Championships on Nov. 5.
