CEDARVILLE, Ohio -- The Campbellsville University men's and women's Cross Country teams wrapped up their 2011 season this past weekend in the National Christian College Athletic Association (NCCAA) Championships in Cedarville, Ohio. The men's team brought home a 13
th place finish, while the women's team finished in 14
th place.
The Tigers were led by Jacob Holtz, as the freshman posted a time of 27:30.95 good enough for a 40
th place finish. Sophomore,
Andrew Simmons was the next Tiger to cross the stripe with a time of 27:36.14, five spots behind Holtz.
Kyle Howdyshell completed his run in 28:41.12. Rounding out the top five for CU were
Bradley Harris (28:55.61) and
Christian Black (30:36.81).
Garrett Baker also competed for the Tigers and finished with a time of 32:07.08.
Malone University from Ohio, won the men's NCCAA championship with a team time of 2:08:41.07. The Tigers finished with a team time of 2:23:20.63. Malone University also boasted the individual champion as Anthony Migliozzi ran a time of 25:00:42.
The men's championship featured 30 teams and 209 individual runners.
Malone University also won the women's event with a team time of 1:34:52.42. The Lady Tigers finished with a time of 1:46:55.63.
Hannah Lamos, of host Cedarville University, won the women's championship event with a time of 18:28.67.
The women's event boasted 25 teams and 184 individual competitors.
