"We knew going in it's an extremely tough place to go in and win. I have the upmost respect for Mountain State and Coach (Bob) Bolen," said Keith Adkins, CU head coach. "It's a thrill for our guys to go in there and get the win. Our guys deserve all the credit. Our biggest thought going in was to play hard and compete. We were fortunate enough to come out with a win."
After leading by eight in the second half, the Tigers placed Mountain States on the free throw line several times, but held on for the 3-point win. Those fouls, along with 18 offensive rebounds kept MSU in the game.
