Tigers upset No. 9 Mountain State

Box Score BECKLEY, W.Va. -- Cedric Henderson and Justin Ennis both scored 20 points to lead Campbellsville University to an upset victory at No. 9 Mountain State University, 73-70.

The Tigers led most of the game, taking a 39-35 lead into the half and leading by as many as eight in the second half.

"We knew going in it's an extremely tough place to go in and win. I have the upmost respect for Mountain State and Coach (Bob) Bolen," said Keith Adkins, CU head coach. "It's a thrill for our guys to go in there and get the win. Our guys deserve all the credit. Our biggest thought going in was to play hard and compete. We were fortunate enough to come out with a win."

After leading by eight in the second half, the Tigers placed Mountain States on the free throw line several times, but held on for the 3-point win. Those fouls, along with 18 offensive rebounds kept MSU in the game. Campbellsville scored more than half its points beyond the arc, connecting on 13-of-37 3-pointers in the win, while holding the Cougars to five.

Reggie Smith and Jordan Myers followed Henderson and Ennis' lead with 14 and 10 points, respectively.

Isaiah Hill led all scorers with 25 points to pace Mountain State. Mark Williams followed Hill with 14 points, followed by 12 points by Mantas Drungys and 11 from David Nyarsuk.

Campbellsville (8-3) will hit the road again next Saturday, Dec. 17, at Olivet Nazarene University in Bourbonnais, Ill.
