LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The Campbellsville University cross country men's and women's teams continued to show improvement Saturday, Sept. 29 at the Back to Greater Louisville Classic. Out of the 21 participating runners, 11 reached a personal record.Â
The Lady Tigers finished in the middle of the pack, placing 22nd out of 42 teams. Shelby Courtney (21:30) and Maggie Calvert (22:43) made their best time last Saturday in the 5K run. Courtney improved 10 seconds while Calvert cut off 38 seconds from her previous record.Â
Of the 38 teams running in the classic, the CU men placed 12th. Junior Andrew Simmons and sophomore Brett Pierce led the times with their personal bests (27:40; 27:41), placing 58th and 59th respectfully out of 306 runners. Freshman Joey Hartlage was only seconds behind, finishing at 27:56, and placing 78th with a new personal record.Â
