Box Score CAMPBELLSVILLE, Ky. - A 3-ball from the left corner proved to be the game-winner Thursday night as Campbellsville University knocked off No. 22 University of Pikeville, 58-57.
Jordan Myers answered a go-ahead 3 by Pikeville's Chris McHenry by sinking the winning shot with 19 seconds to play. The Tigers forced an off-balanced 3 by Trevor Setty with one second remaining to secure the win.

"That was a huge 3 he knocked down, and obviously, it was the difference in winning and losing. This is a great win for us," said Keith Adkins, CU head coach. "I told the guys after the game in the locker room, I'm not sure we can count five things we did correctly tonight. We prepared a whole different way than how we executed, but we came up with a win.
"It wasn't pretty, but we gutted it out. In February, you don't ask how or why, you just look at the wins and losses."
The Tigers led most of the night after securing the lead with seven minutes left in the first half. Malik Thomas scored back-to-back baskets off Cedric Henderson assists to give the Tigers a 21-20 lead. The second basket sparked an 11-0 run over the next four minutes to allow Campbellsville to take a 30-20 lead on a fast-break dunk by Henderson off a steal. The Bears cut the margin to 30-24 to enter halftime.
In the second half, Campbellsville stretched its lead back to nine, 35-26, on a Justin Ennis 3, but Pikeville slowly worked its way back into the game to tie it, 40-40, with 12 minutes to play. CU only gave up a short lead change before UPike evened the score again, 50-50, with four minutes left. The Tigers controlled a one-possession lead down the stretch until McHenry and Myers' 3s at the end.
That's what he's out there for. He's out there for offense, and it's not just shooting. He's a good passer. With Jordan it's all about how fresh he is and getting his feet set. He took one real bad one in the first half and I told him I don't mind you shooting anytime, anywhere as long as you're walking into it and your feet are set.
Campbellsville spread out its points across the floor with Henderson's 12 points leading the team. Ennis, Thomas and
Jonas Bohm each scored 10 points and Myers added eight along with
Reggie Smith. Bohm started the night with two strong dunks in the post for the Tigers and nearly finished with a double-double, grabbing eight rebounds.
"I questioned (Jonas') toughness, and that was completely a motivational tactic. You don't ever have to question his toughness, because he has been monumental this year, and I'm really happy his career will end like this. He is a very important part of what we're doing."
McHenry led Pikeville with 22 points, while the Tiger defense held Setty, Pikeville's leading scorer, to eight points.
"
Reggie Smith and
Malik Thomas deserve a lot of credit for how they guarded him during the game. We tried to be really physical with him. You're never going to completely shut him down, but the job we did on him was really good," Adkins said. "In my 15 years in this league, he's about as tough a cover as there is."
The win pulled Campbellsville even in the Mid-South Conference with four MSC games remaining. CU (17-8, 6-6 MSC) will host the University of Virginia's College at Wise in its final home MSC game of the season Saturday, Feb. 11. Tipoff is 4 p.m. EST.
"We're close to getting above water. Hopefully we can get one against a team that thumped us the last time. We lost a close one at Pikeville and did not show up at UVA-Wise. This will be different," Adkins said. "Hopefully our guys are up to the challenge, because this is our first opportunity in a long time to get above .500 in league play."
The game will be broadcast live on WLCU 88.7 FM and WLCU-TV (Comcast channel 10).
