DANVILLE, Ky. – Two school records fell Friday as Campbellsville University finished sixth at the Centre College Twilight meet.

Demytreus Gipson broke the school record in the 200-meter dash with a first-place time of 22.03, beating his record set the previous Friday in Knoxville, Tenn. Aaron Johnson set the school record in the hammer throw with a distance of 33.12 meters.

Brett Pierce and Timmy Perdue also won an event. Perdue took first in the 5K with a personal record time of 15:40.18, while Perdue won the triple jump at 12.93 meters.

Gipson led CU with 19 points in the meet, adding a fourth-place finish in the 100-meter dash and a fifth-place finish in the long jump. Perdue had 15 points with a fourth-place long jump to go with his triple jump win. I-Rell Patterson was next for CU with 13 points, placing fourth in the 110-meter hurdles and triple jump. He was fifth in the high jump.

Dyaln Ford and Joey Hartlage joined Pierce as Top 8 finishers in distance events. Ford and Hartlage were fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 5K, giving CU 19 points from the race. Johnson had CU's other two points with a seventh-place finish in the discus.

Campbellsville as sixth in the meet, which was won by University of the Cumberlands. Georgetown College was fifth, beating CU by four team points.

CU will return to action April 25-26 at the Mid-South Conference Championships in Williamsburg, Ky.
